Maintenance of membrane clothing
All Enth Degree products are made from highly technical materials. In order that they do not lose their functional properties, they need appropriate care. Not washing a garment with a membrane is just as fatal as not refueling a car before a long journey.
Why? - The human body is constantly sweating out moisture with minerals. This moisture should be sucked out by textile with a membrane to keep the body dry. But what happens now, for example, with the salt crystals that are in this steam? They settle inside the clothing because they are usually larger than the "openings" in the membrane. Salts are very aggressive and attack the material, which over time makes it porous and can be damaged. Never listen to someone who says: An item of clothing with a membrane must not be washed. If you want to destroy it, that's right, but it is not intended for this purpose, you want to enjoy it for a long time.
How do I properly care for my membrane clothing? - As a rule, all items of clothing with a membrane can be easily washed in the washing machine at 30 °C to 40 °C. Washing is important both for breathability (so that the membrane does not close) and for durability. We generally recommend using a special detergent for cleaning. Alternatively, you can also use a mild detergent in liquid form, but please note the following - some of these mild detergents contain fabric softener and that is an absolute NO-GO. You can find out why below. Depending on how it is used, the clothing should be washed relatively often. It is better to use a little detergent more often than rarely with a lot of detergent.
A few rules must be observed when washing in the machine: Do not wash more than three trousers and/or jackets per washing machine load, otherwise the drum will be too full. If possible, turn the pieces inside out (but this is not decisive for the success of the washing) and close all Velcro and zippers before washing, otherwise they could damage the clothing. You should refrain from the dryer (high spins)! It is better to dry things on a hanger over the bathtub or in the shade. Never hang the clothing wet in the sun!
This should be avoided:
Do not leave damp clothes of different colors lying on top of each other for too long, otherwise they can become discolored
Fabric softener is taboo - the fabric softener causes the fibers to swell
Spin - due to the high compression, the material can be squeezed and cracked and broken
